Ouch...Oh, well, That's a Little Better

During primary we spotlight one child. This is the kids very favorite thing that happens, the full three hours they endure church, and they are always on the edge of their chairs, in hopeful anticipation that it will be them. Clues are read about the spotlight child, and guesses are made. Very exciting, indeed. Yesterday, will was listening intently, and the clue of "Who is your favorite person?" was read. The spotlight child's answer was, "my mom". Without hesitation, Will looked right up at me, and dejectedly said, "Oh, I know it's not me. My favorite person is my dad." Ouch. He does know I'm his mom, right?
A merciful moment was on the horizon for me, however. This morning the boys and I were talking about their full names. Isaac, excitedly listened as we went over Will's full name and his initials, and was anxious to do his, but obviously didn't realize what his full name was. When I explained to him his middle name was Joshua. He wailed, "I don't like that name! I don't want that name! Nooooooo!!"
That made it all a little better.
